Amador

The Resource Connection offers programs and services to residents throughout Amador County, which is the smallest rural county in California in terms of acreage.  The county covers  less than 593 square miles and is home to just over 38,000 residents. 

Despite a 9% increase in population between 2000 and 2008, the racial and ethnic diversity of the county has remained relatively static over the last two decades; U.S. Census estimates from 2008 state that approximately 90.5% of residents identify themselves as White, 10.4% as Hispanic or Latino, 4.1% as African American, 1.8% as American Indian and Alaska Natives, 1.7% as Asian/ Pacific Islander, and 1.9% as two or more races.   For more on the demographics of Amador County from the U.S. Census, click here.
